A Memory Book

A memory book is a book where your friends write answers of a set of questions, add their pictures, draw something. They answer the same questions and at the end you have a book full of memories.

Back in 2004 the publisher Damyan Yakov asked me to design a TEEN Memory Book — a memory book targeted on teenagers.

Here is cover made in 2004:

In 2013 he approached me again with two new requests. The first one was to refresh the old cover but to keep its overall look because it was well known and accepted by the market. This is how the refreshed design of the cover looks like:

The other task was to design a second cover with a slightly different but still teenish mood. I prepared four different variations of the cover for him to choose from:

A cover with a design inspired by COSMO magazine:

A cover with a cute baby cat:

A cover with teddy bears:

A cover inspired by ‘Twilight’ (the book and the movie):

The publisher loved the covers and bought them all!

Another happy-ending story that shows how important it is to give your clients the possibility to choose by preparing for them several different design approaches to the same task.
